Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan provides resident-centered care in the long-term care setting under RN supervision. You will assist with daily living activities, vital signs, and care plan adherence, while maintaining infection prevention practices and documenting care outcomes.

You will help with transfers, meals, and psychosocial support, and participate in wellness activities and routine duties to ensure a supportive, patient-focused environment in Saint Ansgar, IA.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma preferred but not required.
• Minimum age of 16 and prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• CNA certification with State Board or in process; facility provides training.
• Annual continuing education requirements and competency testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Assist with transfers, range of motion, and mobility using proper techniques.
• Record vital signs and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with meals, dining, and hydration; maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Support infection control policies and participate in programs as needed.
