Job summary

Good Samaritan is hiring a Nursing Assistant (NA) in Rapid City, SD for full-time day shifts (8 hours) with a 40-hour work week. The role supports resident-centered care under RN supervision, including basic nursing activities and daily living assistance.

The position requires CNA certification or active enrollment, a minimum age of 16, and prior long-term care experience preferred. A sign-on bonus is offered, with a comprehensive benefits package listed by the facility.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification required by State Board, or enrollment in training program within four months of date into the position.
• Annual continuing education: minimum 12 hours required.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver—valid driver’s license required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs, and psychosocial support.
• Assist with transfers, range of motion, and mobility using proper techniques.
• Assist with meals, dining, hydration, and supplemental support as needed.
• Document resident interactions and communicate changing conditions to the charge nurse.
• Participate in wellness and recreational programs and maintain cleanliness and order in living areas.
