Job summary

Corewell Health Merlin & Carolyn Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville is seeking a dedicated CNA to join the nursing team. Under RN direction, you will provide hands-on patient care aligned with individual care plans and unit policies.

Responsibilities include direct daily care, accurate documentation, equipment safety, and participation in unit quality activities. A MI CNA license upon hire and BLS certification are required, with a schedule of 36 hours weekly and day shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State of Michigan approved CNA training.
• Driver's license in Michigan.
• CRT - Nursing Assistant license upon hire.
• CRT-BLS certification (AHA/ARC) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist with daily care: dressing, bathing, transporting, feeding.
• Document care per guidelines.
• Maintain patient environment/equipment; report malfunctions.
• Complete required CNA education hours.
• Participate in unit quality monitoring activities.
• Support safety initiatives and complete safety competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

As a member of the nursing team with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount. You'll be responsible for the care of our patients according to their individual plans, unit routines, and hospital policies. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Essential Functions

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.
• Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.
• Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.
• Maintains patients' environment/work area/equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
• Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours.
• Participation in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.
• Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• CRT - Nursing Assistant - Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Community and Health Systems upon hire
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross Corewell Health Continuing Care (except Hospice), including Regional Rehab and Nursing Centers, Lakeland Continuing Care, Caring Circle Hospice 90 Days
