Job summary

Holland Home in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to support residents with daily living activities and collaborate with nursing staff to ensure the highest standard of care in alignment with our mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a State-approved nursing aide program.
• Current Michigan CNA certification.
• BLS and First Aid certifications.
• Experience with elderly residents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, and hygiene.
• Support residents during mealtimes: serve meals and snacks, assist with feeding if needed.
• Observe and report changes in physical/mental condition to nursing staff.
• Help residents with mobility: transferring, positioning, ambulating, and exercise routines.
• Answer call lights and respond promptly to resident needs.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and dignified living environment.
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families while providing emotional support.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold resident rights.
• Participate in team training, meetings, and ongoing education.
• Model the Holland Home Code of Conduct and utilize Positive Approach to Care™ principles.

Job Summary

As a CNA, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing compassionate, hands-on care. You'll work closely with nursing staff to ensure our residents receive the highest standard of support in alignment with Holland Home's policies and mission.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support onboarding of new CNAs
• Escort residents to meals, appointments, and activities
• Assist nurses with vital signs, specimen collection, and other tasks as needed
• Follow infection control guidelines and promptly report safety concerns
• Perform after-death care with respect and sensitivity
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by leadership

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a State-approved nursing aide program
• Current Michigan CNA certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid certification
• Previous experience with elderly residents preferred
