Job summary

UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital is seeking a part-time Clinical Associate (CNA) in the Float Pool in the greater Chicagoland area. You will prepare patients, assist with meals, and provide direct patient care to meet comfort needs, with 12-hour day shifts onsite.

Under supervision, you will support patient care plans, perform rounds, and help with admissions while adhering to infection control and unit-specific policies. A strong patient Advocacy mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed Medical Terminology Course
• Past or current experience in an acute care hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Acts as a patient/family advocate
• Provide comfort measures and assistance to patients and family
• Performs hourly rounds on patients and meets needs as appropriate
• Demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge to provide care for patients according to unit specific Scope of Care
• Understands Growth and Development and responds effectively to the unique needs of specific patient populations
• With the leadership of the staff nurse, follows plan of care by completing assigned tasks related to direct patient care
• Assists with admissions by setting up patient rooms, orienting patients to rooms, obtaining height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration rate, blood pressure
• Observes and follows infection control policies and procedures in accordance with infection control policy
