Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital in Reno, NV, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for a full-time position focused on adult behavioral health services in a new building at 6225 Sharlands Ave. The role supports a multidisciplinary team with individualized care plans and a 24-hour secure, compassionate environment.

The CNA will provide safe, competent nursing assistant care, assisting the healthcare team and upholding Patient Centered Care and Service Excellence standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited C.N.A program.
• Current Nevada C.N.A. license.
• Current BLS certificate.

Responsibilities

• Completes Bedside shift report in the room at the beginning and end of each shift. Ensures patient is provided with the names and contact numbers for members of the care team on the communication board every shift.
• Meets with Supervising RN at the beginning of each shift to receive delegation of tasks.
• Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care.
• Follows facility policies and procedures to promote patient safety (i.e. safe environment, equipment safety practices, radiation safety, fire prevention, etc.).
• Adheres to fall precautions by performing/assisting patients with toileting/ADL care and never leaving the patient alone. If assistance is needed, CNA is able to ask/call or help while remaining with the patient.

Education

Graduate of an accredited C.N.A program

Current Nevada C.N.A. license
