Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, is adding an adult behavioral health service at 6225 Sharlands Ave, Northwest Reno. A CNA is needed to provide patient-centered care, support the healthcare team, and maintain a safe environment on a 36-hour-per-week day shift with full benefits.

Responsibilities include bedside shift reports, task delegation with the RN, addressing psychosocial and diversity needs, and following safety protocols to protect patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited C.N.A program.
• Current Nevada C.N.A. license.
• Current BLS certificate.

Responsibilities

• Completes Bedside shift report in the room at the beginning and end of each shift. Ensures patient is provided with the names and contact numbers for members of the care team on the communication board every shift.
• Meets with Supervising RN at the beginning of each shift to receive delegation of tasks.
• Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care.
• Follows facility policies and procedures to promote patient safety (i.e. safe environment, equipment safety practices, radiation safety, fire prevention, etc.).
• Adheres to fall precautions by performing/assisting patients with toileting/ADL care and never leaving the patient alone. If assistance is needed, CNA is able to ask/call or help while remaining with the patient.

Education

Graduate of an accredited C.N.A program
