Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for full-time day shifts at the De Smet, SD facility. The NA provides resident-centered care under an RN, assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, mobility, and nourishment while following infection control policies.

Responsibilities include documenting care, supporting wellness programs, and collaborating with the nursing team. A CNA certification is required within four months, with 12 hours annual CE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Minimum age 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience is preferred.
• CNA certification must be obtained within four months of date into the position; certification provided by facility.
• Minimum annual continuing education of 12 hours required; maintain certifications.
• In applicable states, may require Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry and Sanford Category II Driver status.
• Driver physical qualification per Sanford Driving Policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, feeding, vital signs, and mobility.
• Support infection control and chart documentation of resident care and interactions.
• Assist with meals, dining experience, and resident activities as directed.
