Job summary

South Peninsula Hospital's LTC Facility is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to provide personalized care that promotes dignity, comfort and independence under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist residents with activities of daily living, document care electronically, and collaborate with nursing staff to meet resident needs while supporting safety.

The facility combines a 22-bed critical access hospital and a 28-bed skilled nursing unit in a close-knit community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• CNA certification from the State of Alaska, with ongoing CEUs as required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Completion of CNA orientation and ongoing CEU requirements for certification maintenance.
• Strong communication skills, including speaking, listening, and basic writing, with the ability to document care electronically.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including personal care, exercises, and meals under RN/LPN supervision.
• Support residents’ physical and emotional well-being while promoting their independence.
• Document care provided accurately using computer systems.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to meet resident care needs and ensure safety.
• Participate in facility-wide care efforts, including possible assistance in other nursing departments.
