Job summary

Gainesville-Health- in Gainesville, VA, seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff in delivering patient care. You will assist with bathing, hygiene, meal setup, and vital signs, while documenting care in the patient record and communicating observations to the licensed team.

A focus on timely reporting, cleanliness, and compassionate interaction is essential. The role requires a VA CNA in good standing; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
• Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help patients with activities of daily living.
• Read, interpret, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Communicate in a tactful and caring manner.
• Document nursing care provided in the clinical record.
• Receive patient reports from the Charge Nurse for assigned patients.
• Assist with feeding and setting up meal trays.
• Assist patients with dressing, hygiene, peri-care, and hair care; make beds.
• Measure and record intake and output as indicated.
• Obtain accurate weight and height for patients.
• Turn and position patients per care plan; provide skin care.
• Trim and clean nails for suitable patients; provide incontinence care.
• Observe and report changes in patient status to the charge nurse.
• Obtain and record vital signs; keep room neat and orderly.
• Promptly respond to call systems and perform other duties as assigned.
