Job summary

The Laurels of Mt Pleasant in Michigan is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nurses. You will assist residents with activities of daily living and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment.

Responsibilities include measuring vital signs, documenting care, assisting with mobility and transfers, responding to call lights, and supporting dementia care and restorative nursing.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/GED is required.
• Must be a State Tested Nursing Assistant in good standing or a graduate of an approved nursing assistant training program and passed the state competency examination within 120 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care as applicable, oral hygiene and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and lift equipment.
• Respond to call lights and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain documentation according to facility procedures and infection control guidelines.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents; maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Contribute to residents’ assessment and plan of care; provide nursing rehabilitation/restorative services.
