Always Family HomeCare in Woodbridge, VA seeks compassionate Caregivers to provide personal and companion care to an elderly hospice patient. Shifts are 12 hours (7:30am–7:30pm); duties include transfers, dressing, toileting, eating and medication reminders, plus light housekeeping.

Experience in hospice is highly valued; CNA license/certification (CNA, PCA, or HHA) is preferred. The client lives with her husband who is self-sufficient; reliability and empathy are essential for improving quality

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Caregiver.
• Must have CNA license, CNA certificate, PCA, or HHA.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Pass a background check and drug screen.
• Current Driver's License.
• Current TB test.
• Vaccinations including COVID-19 and flu encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Follow RN Supervisor instructions to provide personal care.
• Assist with hygiene such as bathing, oral care, and dressing.
• Assist with food preparation; light housekeeping, laundry, dishes.
• Observe safety and report hazards or changes to RN.
• Attend staff meetings and in-services; orientation for new employees.
• Report client complaints to RN Supervisor; observe and report changes.

Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate Caregivers to provide exemplary personal care and companion care to an elderly lady in hospice care in Woodbridge, VA. Shifts are 12 hours, 7:30am to 7:30pm. She is mostly bedbound and will need assistance with transfers, dressing, toileting, eating, and medication reminders. Also assistance with light housekeeping and companionship. She lives with her husband who is self sufficient. Previous experience with hospice is highly desired. CNA license is highly desired.

Benefits:

• Hourly rate of $17 to $21 per hour based on licensing and experience.

Job Responsibilities

Must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations:

• Follows the instructions of the RN Supervisor in providing personal assistance services.
• Provide assistance with hygiene such as bathing, oral care, and dressing.
• Assist with food preparation; serve food, performs errands, light housekeeping, laundry, wash dishes.
• Observe and report any safety hazards found in the client’s home or any significant observations regarding the client.
• Attend staff meetings, attend/complete 12 hours of annual in-services, and participates in orientation of new employees.
• Report client complaints to the RN Supervisor.
• Report abnormal findings in client’s conditions as observed and per care plan to RN.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Two years of experience as a Caregiver. Must have CNA license, CNA certificate, PCA, or HHA.
• Requirements:

  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Current Driver's License
  • Current TB test
  • Reliable transportation, able to travel throughout Prince William County and surrounding areas
  • Immunizations to include COVID-19 and flu strongly encouraged
