Job summary

The Department of Human Resources Management (DHRM) seeks a CNA for 1st shift at Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute in Danville, VA. You will support patients with daily living activities, monitor health status, and help maintain a therapeutic environment.

Shift is 7:00 am–7:30 pm with 2x12h and 2x8h blocks, including weekends/holidays with differential pay. Required: VA Nurse Aide license in good standing, basic computer/EHR skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Aide in Virginia with good standing.
• Ability to use EHR and complete documentation efficiently.
• High school diploma or GED required; driver’s license valid.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with ADLs and therapeutic activities.
• Monitor changes in medical/psychiatric status and report promptly.
• Maintain safety, assist with behavior management, and document actions.
