Job summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a compassionate Nurse Aide (CNA) for the 1st shift at the Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute in Danville. You will directly work with patients to support recovery, self-determination, and wellness, while following strict safety and documentation practices.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, monitoring patient status, and responding to crises. Requires Virginia CNA license, basic EHR skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Aide in Virginia, active and in good standing.
• Basic computer skills for Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Attend to patients' problems and concerns and encourage activities.
• Provide intervention for behavior problems and crisis situations.
• Promote patient awareness and coping strategies.
• Operate within least restrictive interventions and follow hospital policy.
