Job summary

Hospice of Western and Central Massachusetts is seeking a part-time CNA for travel within Franklin County. The position requires an insured vehicle and willingness to travel throughout the county, with weekly pay between $22 and $24 per hour and a 3-day workweek from 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m. The CNA will provide patient care as outlined in the plan of care, observe and report changes, and document care performed.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license in this state.
• Must be comfortable in patients' settings (skilled nursing, hospitals, homes, etc.).
• Must have at least one year of experience as a CNA.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks per plan of care (bathing, feeding, dressing).
• Maintain positive communication with patients and families; create a friendly, professional environment.
• Monitor safety during care and use equipment properly.
• Plan and assist with nutritious meals and shopping as assigned.
• Record vital signs when ordered and ensure competency in skills.
• Observe skin condition and report changes to Case Manager.
• Assist in ambulation and exercises as directed by nurse/therapist.
• Support transfers/positioning and maintain ROM.

Education

Active CNA license in this state

At least 1 year CNA experience

Hospice of Western and Central Massachusetts is looking for a part‑time CNA in Franklin County!

This is an on‑the‑road position that requires the candidate to have an insured vehicle and be willing to travel throughout the county. Weekly pay ranges from $22 to $24 an hour! 3 days a week from 8a-4:30p.

You perform various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient’s personal needs and to promote comfort. The hospice aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.

Experience & Education:

• Must hold an active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license in this state.

• Must be comfortable in patients' settings (skilled nursing, hospitals, homes, etc.)

• Must have at least one year of experience as a CNA.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performing personal care needs per plan of care, including bathing, feeding, and dressing.

• Providing patients and families with a positive communication chain and a friendly and professional environment.

• Meet the safety needs of the patient using equipment safely and properly.

• Planning and preparing nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned.

• Taking and recording oral, rectal, and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency.

• Providing proper care and observation of the patient’s skin.

• Assessing and reporting on the patient’s condition and significant changes to the Case Manager.

• Assisting in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist.

• Provide normal range of motion and transfers/positioning as directed.
