Job summary

Senior Helpers of Burlington is seeking compassionate home care aides to support seniors in their homes. Responsibilities include companionship, light housekeeping, meal planning and mobility assistance to maintain client independence.

Applicants should have a CHHA license, be able to read, write and speak English, and be willing to travel with a vehicle to assignments. This role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• CHHA license required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English at an average adult level.
• Ability to drive to get to work and have a vehicle available during assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation.
• Assist with light housekeeping and household management.
• Assist with walking, eating, bathing and dressing as needed.
• Help with errands and transportation to appointments.

Objective

To provide professional care giving services and to help clients maintain their independence and to assist them with the activities of daily living and household and family support services.

Primary Responsibilities

• Companionship and conversation
• Light housekeeping
• Household management
• Walking assistance
• Eating assistance
• Errands
• Transportation
• Assist client to and from bed

Other Requirements

• Meal planning and preparation
• Laundry and linen changing
• Bathing assistance
• Dressing assistance
• Toileting
• Medication reminders
• Monitor Alzheimer’s & Dementia client
• Assist client throughout the night
• Document activities in the Care Plan Book daily
• Report any significant client changes to the office immediately.
• Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Senior Helpers Employee Handbook and Training Manual.

Qualifications

• CHHA license required
• Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect.
• Ability to read, write and speak English at an average adult level.
• Ability to successfully complete Personal Care Services training and skills assessment test.
• Ability to drive to get to work and have a vehicle available during assignments.
• Demonstrate tact, patience and good hygiene
• Must have flexibility with schedule and be able to work various shifts and days
• Pass a criminal background check prior to employment with Senior Helpers.
