Job summary

Senior Helpers Burlington seeks a compassionate caregiver to deliver professional in-home care that supports clients in maintaining independence and dignity at home.

Responsibilities include companionship, light housekeeping, meal planning, errands, and transportation coordination. Training and development opportunities are provided to grow within the role.

Qualifications

• CHHA license required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English at an average adult level.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and able to lift 25 pounds.
• Must possess a valid social security number.
• Valid driver’s license with no serious driving violations.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation.
• Perform light housekeeping and household management.
• Run errands and assist with meal planning and preparation.
• Assist with laundry, attire, and linen changes.
• Remind about medications and coordinate transportation as needed.
• In sleep over/live-in situations, prepare sleeping area and assist during the night as requested.
• Document activities daily and submit weekly time sheet and service log.
• Report significant client changes to the office.

The job description outlines your primary responsibilities as a caregiver. Prior to beginning a new assignment, Senior Helpers will provide you with background information about your client and review any special needs this client may have.

Objective: To provide professional care giving services and to help clients maintain their independence
and to assist them with household and family support services

Reports to: Hiring Manager

Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)

• Companionship and conversation
• Light housekeeping
• Household management
• Errands
• Apparel selection (i.e. laying out clothes)
• Meal planning & preparation
• Laundry & linen changing
• Medication reminders
• Transportation using client’s vehicles or your own

In sleep over or live in situations

• Prepare sleeping area at night
• Assist client as requested during the night; let office know if this is requested more than twice a night

Other Requirements

• Document activities in the Care Plan Book daily (if applicable)
• Record daily hours worked and daily services performed on the Weekly Time Sheet and Service Log, review with client and submit the signed form every Monday by 5:00pm
• Report any significant client changes to the office immediately

  • Pass a criminal background check prior to employment with Senior Helpers
