Job summary

Senior Helpers Burlington is seeking a compassionate in-home caregiver to help clients maintain independence and support daily living activities. You will provide companionship, light housekeeping, meal reminders, and transportation to appointments with a focus on safety and dignity.

Reporting to the Hiring Manager, the role offers a flexible schedule and paid training. Active CHHA license is required, along with reliable transportation and a background check.

Qualifications

• CHHA license is required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English at an average adult level.
• Must be able to drive to work and have a vehicle available during assignments.
• Valid driver’s license with no serious driving violations and car insurance.
• Flexible with schedule and able to work various shifts and days.
• Criminal background check clearance requirement.

The Job Description outlines your primary responsibilities as a caregiver. Prior to beginning a new assignment, Senior Helpers will provide you with background information about your client and review any special needs this client may have.

Objective:

To provide professional care giving services and to help clients maintain their independence and to assist them with the activities of daily living and household and family support services.

Reports To: Hiring Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

• Companionship and conversation
• Light housekeeping
• Household management
• Walking assistance
• Eating assistance
• Errands
• Transportation
• Assist client to and from bed

Other Requirements:

• Meal planning and preparation
• Laundry and linen changing
• Bathing assistance
• Dressing assistance
• Toileting
• Medication reminders
• Monitor Alzheimer’s & Dementia client
• Assist client throughout the night
• Document activities in the Care Plan Book daily
• Report any significant client changes to the office immediately.
• Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Senior Helpers Employee Handbook and Training Manual.

Qualifications

• CHHA license required
• Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect.
• Ability to read, write and speak English at an average adult level.
• Ability to successfully complete Personal Care Services training and skills assessment test.
• Ability to drive to get to work and have a vehicle available during assignments.
• Valid driver’s license with no serious driving violations, a valid driver’s license and car insurance
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations.
• Demonstrate tact, patience and good hygiene
• Must have flexibility with schedule and be able to work various shifts and days
• Pass a criminal background check with Senior Helpers.
