Job summary

Senior Helpers Burlington is seeking compassionate in-home caregivers to support clients with daily living, companionship, and household tasks. Before each assignment, you will receive background information and any special needs from the supervisor.

Responsibilities include meal planning, light housekeeping, errands, transportation, medication reminders, and night-time assistance. A CHHA license is required, you must have a valid driver's license, speak English, and be flexible with shifts.

Qualifications

• CHHA license required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English at an average adult level.
• Must have a vehicle and be able to travel to assignments.
• Pass a criminal background check prior to employment.

• Medication reminders and monitoring.

• Assist client to and from bed.

Job description

The Job Description outlines your primary responsibilities as a caregiver. Prior to beginning a new assignment, Senior Helpers will provide you with background information about your client and review any special needs this client may have.

Objective: To provide professional care giving services and to help clients maintain their independence and to assist them with the activities of daily living and household and family support services.

Reports To: Hiring Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

• Companionship and conversation
• Light housekeeping
• Household management
• Walking assistance
• Eating assistance
• Errands
• Transportation
• Assist client to and from bed

Other Requirements:

• Meal planning and preparation
• Laundry and linen changing
• Bathing assistance
• Dressing assistance
• Toileting
• Medication reminders
• Monitor Alzheimer’s & Dementia client
• Assist client throughout the night
• Document activities in the Care Plan Book daily
• Report any significant client changes to the office immediately.
• Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Senior Helpers Employee Handbook and Training Manual.

Qualifications

• CHHA license required
• Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect.
• Ability to read, write and speak English at an average adult level.
• Ability to successfully complete Personal Care Services training and skills assessment test.
• Ability to drive to get to work and have a vehicle available during assignments.
• Demonstrate tact, patience and good hygiene
• Must have flexibility with schedule and be able to work various shifts and days
• Pass a criminal background check prior to employment with Senior Helpers.
