Job summary

Building & Earth is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Level II Technician in Dunn, NC. The role involves field testing, observations, and documentation of soil, concrete, grout, mortar and asphalt per project specs.

Required certifications include ACI Level I, ICC Soils Special Inspector, and Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety Training, plus 12 months of CMT experience. Night/weekend shifts and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months CMT experience with field testing.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I Certification.
• ICC Soils Special Inspector Certification.
• Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety Training Certification.
• Competency in One-Point Proctor testing in the field.

Responsibilities

• Receive, understand and execute written and verbal directions.
• Review civil/structural plans and identify relevant sections.
• Perform tests, inspections and observations with minimal supervision.
• Submit daily field reports documenting testing and field observations.
• Document non-conforming items to project supervision.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment per standards.
• Operate nuclear density gauge per safety policy.
• Read plans and specifications accurately.
• Sample mortar, grout and asphalt as required.
