Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) seeks a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician II for the Asheville team. The role focuses on field testing, observation, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete with limited supervision.

Candidate should have at least 1 year of related experience and a high school diploma or GED. OSHA 10 may be required, and a valid driver’s license is needed for on-site duties. The position supports project teams and field reporting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Maintain basic certifications and one advanced certification applicable to the work performed as per the ECS Technician Certification Policy.
• General industry OSHA 10 may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete.
• Executes routine construction materials testing activities with minimal supervision.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Prepares and submits accurate daily field reports documenting site conditions and test results.
• Performs calculations, data reduction, and basic documentation tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing supplies.
• Assists with more complex testing activities under supervision.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
