Job summary

Bridgeport Healthcare Center is seeking a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to administer medications and provide personal care to residents, ensuring the highest quality care and safety in daily operations. As a full-time team member, you will work with nurses and staff in a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enter and graduate within 120 days and pass state test.
• Understanding of medication administration procedures and completion of state-approved training course.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Understanding of resident care procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and administer medications per physician orders and state/federal regulations.
• Display knowledge of side effects, interactions, and nursing implications of common medications.
• Account for controlled drugs each shift and report discrepancies immediately.
• Chart routine medications, documentation of PRN medications, and other observations.
• Maintain medication inventory and participate in rounds with nurse and physician.
• Prepare monthly medication records.
• Provide personal care and treatment for residents.
• Perform basic nursing care functions as required.
• Create a clean, safe environment and meet residents’ needs.
• Maintain resident documentation for activities of daily living and restorative programs.
