Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a Metrology Technician (Hourly) on 1st shift in Tennessee, performing PC-DMIS based CMM programming to support PPAP and production. The role requires GD&T knowledge, PC-DMIS certification, and experience with laser scanning, touch probes, and camera-based systems.

The position involves mentoring operators, maintaining measurement data, and collaborating with quality and manufacturing teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• PC-DMIS Certification Level 1 & 2 is required or minimum Level 1 with 4+ years’ experience.
• Proficiency in laser scanning, touch probe & camera-based measurement systems.
• Strong ability to read and apply GD&T specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop CMM programs with PC-DMIS to support PPAP and other engineering initiatives.
• Translate GD&T specs and drawings into functional measurement programs.
• Assist in fixture design to ensure proper measurement setups for PPAP and production.
• Provide coaching to CMM operators and entry-level programmers.
• Log checks and project status in metrology tracking system.
