Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a Metrology Technician (Hourly) - CMM Programmer Level 2 to develop PC-DMIS measurement routines, convert GD&T specs into CMM programs, and support PPAP with production teams. Qualified candidates have PC-DMIS Level 1 and 2 certifications, and at least two years of relevant experience with touch probes, laser scanning, and vision systems.

The role includes training operators and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• PC-DMIS Certification Level 1 and 2; min 4 years experience.
• Proficiency with laser scanning, touch probe, and camera-based measurement systems.
• 2+ years in metrology/manufacturing/quality role.
• Strong GD&T interpretation and reading blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Develop CMM programs with PC-DMIS to support PPAP and QA initiatives.
• Translate drawings and GD&T specs into CMM programs.
• Design and develop part fixturing for measurement setups.
• Lead kaizen root-cause analyses related to components.
• Maintain CMM data with Cp/Cpk values and ensure PC-DMIS QC-CALC integration.
• Coach and develop CMM operators and junior programmers.
• Troubleshoot and perform autonomous maintenance on CMM equipment.
• Log checks and project statuses daily in metrology tracking system.
• Apply WCM methodologies and 3G/5G, 5-Why, Kaizen.
• Extract 3D models from Creo to generate measurement programs.
• Support Quality team with sorting, inspection, and validation.
