Job summary

Materion is seeking a skilled CMM inspector to perform in-process and final inspections using a CMM or FARO Arm. You will interpret blueprints and CAD data, develop CMM programs, and determine acceptance based on first article and in-process checks.

Responsibilities include identifying non-conforming materials, documenting results, and supporting PPAP data packages. The role may require 2nd or 3rd shift and requires ISO standards familiarity.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years’ experience operating/programming CMM – Zeiss Calypso Software and FARO arm (Polyworks).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with hand gages (including calipers, inside micrometer, o.d. mic., depth mic., height gage, chamfer gage, groove mic., thread gages, dial bore indicator, etc.).
  • Strong blueprint reading skills.
  • Have problem solving skills, be self-motivated, and willing to ensure work is within spec (some personnel oversight/guidance may be needed).
  • Familiarity with ISO standards.
  • Able to work 2nd or 3rd shift.

  • Mentor other CMM personnel and prepare data packages for PPAP.
  • Possibly utilize 3D scanning knowledge.

You will have the opportunity to: Perform and report routine in-process dimensional sample inspection of parts. Interpret blueprint and/or CAD design and develop CMM computer program techniques for the dimensional inspection process. Operation of CMM(s) to determine acceptance or rejection of product via first piece and in-process inspections. Experience operating a FARO arm favorable. Participate in dimensional problem-solving activities. Perform first article dimensional inspection of parts.

Additional Qualifications
  • Ability to program Caylpso and/or FARO PPAP/Gage R & R/SPC knowledge
  • Familiar with GAGETRAK calibration software
  • Familiar with requirements of ISO 9001/AS9100
  • Experience mentoring other CMM personnel
  • Experience in preparing data packages for PPAP
  • 3D scanning knowledge and experience HP
