Job summary

Materion Corporation is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform in-process and final inspections using a CMM and FARO Arm, interpreting blueprints and CAD data to guide dimensional checks. You will report results and help identify non-conforming materials or tools, ensuring products meet spec.

The role requires 2 years of CMM experience with Zeiss Calypso and Polyworks, strong hand-gage knowledge, and familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience operating/programming CMM – Zeiss Calypso Software and FARO arm (Polyworks).
• Extensive knowledge and experience with hand gauges (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Strong blueprint reading skills.
• Familiar with ISO standards.
• Able to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
• Export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology.
• Experience mentoring other CMM personnel.

Responsibilities

This position performs various required quality inspections utilizing a CMM or Faro Arm. Performs in-process and final inspection of products related to CMM inspection; CMM inspection of incoming tools and inspection of tools needing annual dimensional checks. Also, has the responsibility of identifying, documenting, and segregating non-conforming materials or tools. Document results of inspection appropriately.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Perform and report routine in-process dimensional sample inspection of parts.
• Interpret blueprint and/or CAD design and develop CMM computer program techniques for the dimensional inspection process
• Operation of CMM(s) to determine acceptance or rejection of product via first piece and in-process inspections. Experience operating a FARO arm favorable.
• Participate in dimensional problem-solving activities
• Perform first article dimensional inspection of parts

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years’ experience operating/programming CMM – Zeiss Calypso Software and FARO arm (Polyworks)
• Extensive knowledge and experience with hand gages (including calipers, inside micrometer, o.d. mic., depth mic., height gage, chamfer gage, groove mic., thread gages, dial bore indicator, etc.)
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Have problem solving skills, be self-motivated, and willing to make sure work is within spec (some personnel oversight/guidance may be needed)
• Familiarity with ISO standards
• Able to work 2ndor 3rdshift.

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to program Caylpso and/or FARO
• PPAP/Gage R & R/SPC knowledge
• Familiar with GAGETRAK calibration software
• Familiar with requirements of ISO 9001/AS9100
• Experience mentoring other CMM personnel
• Experience in preparing data packages for PPAP
• 3D scanning knowledge and experience
