Responsibilities

  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, document medical histories, and gather chief complaints.
  • Assist providers with exams, treatments, minor procedures, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and phlebotomy as assigned.
  • Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, stock supplies, and maintain infection control standards.
  • Update electronic medical records, verify patient information, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, answer calls, and support patient follow-up communications.
  • Process referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, check-in, check-out, and payment processing as needed.

Job Summary

A healthcare services organization in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity. The Certified Medical Assistant will work closely with providers, patients, and clinic team members to help maintain efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive care experience. Key Responsibilities
  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, document medical histories, and gather chief complaints.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay: $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.
  • Job Type: Temp-to-Hire.
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
  • Location: Shreveport, LA.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Support clinical patient care by rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting providers, and documenting patient information.
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, instruments, and infection control procedures.
  • Assist with front-office operations including scheduling, patient communication, referrals, and check-in or check-out support.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and help ensure a smooth, positive patient experience.
  • Certified Medical Assistant credential required.
  • 1 to 2 years of medical assistant experience preferred for this role.
  • Experience with vital signs, medical histories, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and phlebotomy is helpful.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and basic clinic documentation practices.
  • Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a clinic, physician office, urgent care, or outpatient healthcare setting.
  • Experience supporting both clinical and administrative medical office duties.
  • Knowledge of referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, and patient follow-up processes.
  • BLS certification is a plus if applicable to the clinical setting.
