CAN Community Health Inc. in Sarasota, FL is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) I for a full-time day shift with bi-monthly rotating extended hours.

The role combines front desk duties, phlebotomy and clinical support to care for patients affected by HIV, Hepatitis C, STI’s and other infectious diseases. You will perform medical intake, vital signs, immunizations and assist the physician, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring a welcoming, confidential patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
• Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) is required or can be achieved within 6 months of hire.
• CPR certification is required.
• 1+ years of clinical experience is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.

Responsabilités

• Perform medical intake procedures including vital signs and history.
• Perform complete patient evaluation and assessment.
• Record and report symptoms, reactions, treatments and changes in patient’s conditions.
• Perform immunizations as directed by the physician.
• Practice safe phlebotomy using standard precautions.
• Greet and assist patients with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Verify and update patient insurance information during check-in.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments and follow-ups.
