Job summary

CAN Community Health, Inc. is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) I for a full-time day shift in North Port, FL. Responsibilities include medical intake, vitals, phlebotomy, front desk duties, and coordinating patient flow.

This role supports care for patients affected by HIV, Hepatitis C, STI’s, and other infectious diseases. The ideal candidate has CMA certification and CPR, with 1+ year of clinical experience; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) required or ability to achieve within 6 months of hire.
• CPR certification required.
• 1+ years of clinical experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Must have valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical intake procedures including vital signs and history.
• Records and reports symptoms, reactions, treatments and changes in patient conditions.
• Performs immunizations as directed by physician and phlebotomy tasks.
• Front desk duties: greet patients, collect payments, verify insurance, schedule appointments.
• Perform venipuncture and label specimens accurately.
