Job summary

PACS Group is seeking a licensed Medication Aide to assist in administering medications to residents under physician and nurse supervision. The role emphasizes adherence to medication policies, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the care team.

Requirements include CNA and CMA certification, a state-licensed Medication Aide credential, and the ability to follow complex procedures while maintaining resident safety.

Qualifications

• Must possess CNA and CMA certifications.
• Must be a licensed Medication Aide per state law.
• Excellent residents care and medication administration skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow the facility policies and procedures for medication administration to residents.
• Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
• Assist in developing procedures to determine what medication errors occur and how to prevent them.
• Complete necessary forms, charts, reports, and submit as required.
• Maintain a friendly, productive relationship with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
• Report complaints or grievances by residents to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate in facility surveys and QA programs related to medication pass and accuracy.
• Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications ordered by physicians or Medical Director.
• Verify medication identities with attending physician or facility pharmacy/pharmacist.
• Follow labeling, charting, and disposal procedures for medications.
