Job summary

PACS is seeking a licensed Medication Aide to assist in administering medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of nursing leadership. The role follows established nursing standards and facility policies to ensure accurate and safe medication practices.

Typical duties include documenting administrations, reporting errors, supporting QA programs, and keeping precise medication records. A state-approved training program and licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials and communicate effectively.
• Eligible to become licensed as a Medication Aide per state laws.

Responsibilities

• Administer and document medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician.
• Follow facility policies and report any medication errors.
• Assist in developing procedures to reduce medication errors and improve safety.
• Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports and submit as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and collaborate with nursing and pharmacy staff.
