Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or its equivalent.
• Licensed Medication Aide having completed state-approved training and examinations.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials.
• Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
• Ability to present information effectively to managers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies governing medication administration.
• Note and report errors in medication administration.
• Assist in developing procedures to reduce medication errors.
• Complete required forms, charts, and reports.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff and physicians.
• Report resident complaints to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate in surveys and QA programs.
• Prepare, administer, and document medications accurately.
• Verify medications for new admissions.
• Follow labeling and documentation procedures.
