Responsibilities

Summary/Responsibilities of this position:

Central Market is seeking a Production Specialist with availability to include days, evenings, and weekends to handle the freshest quality ingredients.

Production Specialists work under direct supervision. They will apply basic and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment appropriate to their area of specialization. Use of specialized subject matter knowledge is required.

Duties of this position may include:

1. Mixing, shaping, baking, wrapping, and stocking of products
2. Ensuring quality control of all products before sending to the sales floor
3. Maintaining sanitation in the department
4. Maintaining organization of back storage, freezer, walk-in, and production area
5. Reading and executing the daily production list
6. Calculating figures and amounts such as weights, discounts, percentages, and volumes
7. Providing customer service, including answering questions and taking orders over the phone
8. Monitoring the quality of goods and shrinkage
9. Ordering and receiving products and supplies
10. Maintaining transfer records
11. Prepping, wrapping, pricing, selling, and stocking products continuously
12. Demos or preparing customer samples for self-serve
13. Providing excellent customer service
14. Using suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales

Requirements

• Experience with commercial production preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads (minimum of 50 lbs.), bend, reach, push, and pull
• Ability to work overnight and flexible schedules (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
