Responsibilities

Summary/Responsibilities of this position:

A Sales Rep will be responsible for stocking and selling products to new and existing retail customers. They will order assigned products to maximize sales, merchandise, front, and sell products by performing the duties outlined below. The role involves working under immediate supervision, following detailed verbal and written instructions, and applying basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment relevant to the area of specialization. Specific product knowledge may be required depending on the department.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Organize, clean, and prepare the back area for incoming deliveries
  • Keep the sales floor uncluttered and free from spills
  • Stock and rotate items as needed
  • Reset products and maintain shelf conditions, ensuring the integrity of shelf tags and signage
  • Check shipments for out-of-date and damaged products to ensure freshness and quality
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations regarding product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation
  • Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control
  • Assist in merchandising the department to maximize sales
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to increase sales
Experience and Education (Preferred):
  • Typically requires 0-2 years of experience
  • Knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and food preparation is essential
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Passion for food
  • Materials handling equipment certification
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures
Physical and Other Requirements:

Must be able to manage in excess of 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs.
