Responsibilities

Summary/Responsibilities of this position: A Sales Representative will be responsible for stocking and selling products to both new and existing retail customers. This includes ordering products to maximize sales, merchandising, fronting, and selling products according to detailed instructions. The role requires working under supervision, applying basic skills, and developing product knowledge depending on the department.

• Provide excellent customer service
• Organize, clean, and prepare the back area for incoming deliveries
• Keep the sales floor tidy and free from spills
• Stock and rotate items as needed
• Reset products and maintain shelf conditions, ensuring the accuracy of shelf tags and signage
• Check shipments for out-of-date or damaged products to ensure freshness and quality
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations regarding product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation
• Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control
• Assist in merchandising to maximize sales
• Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales

Experience and Education Preferred: Typically requires 0-2 years of experience. Knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment is preferred. Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and food preparation is essential. Strong customer service skills, a passion for food, and materials handling certification are desirable. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and in extreme temperatures are required.

Physical and Other Requirements: Must be able to manage lifting in excess of 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs.
