Job summary

Planet Fitness in New Britain, CT is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee front desk operations and support the General Manager. The role focuses on front-of-house activities, customer service, and team leadership in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a 2-year degree and supervisory experience in high-volume settings, with strong communication and multitasking skills. Evening and weekend availability is required, with benefits and 401K included for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associates degree preferred).
• 6 month supervisor or manager experience in a high-volume restaurant or retail environment; 1 year preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
• Bi-lingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and drive club metrics in alignment with business performance.
• Build knowledge of club services, programs and products; stay informed on competitors.
• Assist in interviewing and recruitment via initial phone screens for front desk and fitness staff.
• Monitor inventory and review sales numbers with GM to identify improvement opportunities.
• Uphold company standards; lead by example; maintain a clean, friendly, well-managed club.
• Ensure team members maintain punctuality, dress code, friendliness and cleanliness.
• Develop and maintain front desk cleaning duties and overnight staffing oversight.
• Coordinate disciplinary actions with GM, Regional Manager and HR.
