Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Lancaster, PA is hiring for an Assistant Club Manager in Training. The AMIT provides leadership within the club and prepares for one of three tracks: Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience. This role oversees certifications, training, and ensures GOLD standards and food safety compliance.

The AMIT may serve as Manager on Duty, leading operations during shifts and ensuring member engagement. ServSafe certification is required and forklift experience may be needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations management.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Must be able to lead and motivate a large team.
• Solid understanding of shrink controls, staff development, merchandising, customer service, problem solving, and conflict resolution required.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including managing/supervising cross-functional teams, training team members, and driving and communicating results.
• Knowledge of store operations, membership, front-line, gas station, tire bay, maintenance, omni procedures required.
• Completion of company training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Strategic Department Leadership: Partner with the Club Manager and ... cross-functional teams to oversee daily operations across assigned departments.
• Recruit, Hire, and Onboard Team Members: Manage the full hiring process for assigned departments, including interviewing and staffing decisions.
• Oversee Labor Planning and Scheduling: Create and manage effective labor schedules aligned with business trends.
• Drive Sales, Inventory Control, and Shrink Management: Lead execution of key operational processes to ensure in-stock conditions.
• Champion Member Experience Standards: Model and enforce GAA, GOLD, and LAST service standards across departments.
• Execute Operational Readiness: Uphold close to open standards to ensure all departments are ready for business.
• Lead Department Talent Management: Conduct performance reviews and mentor future leaders.
• Utilize BJ’s MY WORK System: Execute daily tasks and initiatives via BJ’s internal systems.
• Operate Equipment Safely (as required): forklift operation and safety protocols.
