Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is hiring for an Assembler at the Sanford, NC facility to build and assemble heavy equipment components following documented procedures and lean manufacturing practices.

You'll operate industrial power tools, lift devices, and cross-train across work areas while maintaining safety, quality, and on-time cycle times. The role offers Day ONE benefits, competitive wages, and a quarterly bonus program.

Qualifications

• 6 months of prior work experience.
• Able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Able to perform repetitive operations.
• Able to lift to 35 lbs.
• Experience with hand/power tools and in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow documented procedures to perform safe and defect-free assembly and adjustment of parts and components.
• Leverage lean manufacturing concepts to support continuous improvement and waste elimination.
• Use industrial power tools for assembly and lifting devices to move heavy components.
• Be held accountable for completing standard work within the allotted cycle time (approximately 3-15-minute cycle time).
• Cross-train across work areas and ability to learn new work areas.

Shift Schedule

• 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 2:15 pm - 10:15 pm (Boone Trail)
• 2nd Shift Starting Pay: $19.44 hour (includes 8% shift premium)

As An Assembler At Caterpillar You Will

Basic Requirements

• 6 months of previous work experience
• Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periods
• Willing and able to perform repetitive operations
• Willing and able to lift to 35 lbs.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

• Prior experience with hand tools or power tools
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
• Heavy equipment machine assembly experience
• Previous work experience operating an electric hoist to lift more than 35 lbs.
• Proven track record of good attendance and work history.
