Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. in Maryland is seeking a senior System Administrator to manage Windows Server 2019/2022, AD, DNS and Certificate Authorities, plus Windows clients. You will administer Linux (RHEL8/9, Amazon Linux 2023) in AWS and support on‑prem infrastructure.

Automation will be built with SaltStack, Ansible, Bash and Python to streamline provisioning and deployment. The role requires active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph, 15+ years as a System Administrator, and a technical Bachelor's

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of experience as a System Administrator.
• 5 additional years may substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot Linux distributions (RHEL8/9, Amazon Linux 2023) in AWS.
• Deploy and maintain cloud environments in AWS and support on‑prem infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain automation using SaltStack, Ansible, Bash and Python.

Job Description

• Provide administration and support for Windows Server 2019 and 2022 environments, including Active Directory, DNS, Certificate Authorities and manage Windows 10/11 client systems.
• Administer and troubleshoot various Linux distributions (e.g., RHEL8/9, AmazonLinux 2023) within AWS.
• Deploy, and maintain robust cloud environments, primarily within AWS, while also supporting existing on-premises server infrastructure.
• Develop, implement and maintain automation scripts and configurations using SaltStack, Ansible, Bash and Python to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration management and deployment processes

Required Experience

• AWS cloud resources, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and other core services.
• SaltStack, Ansible, Bash and Python
• Windows Server 2019 and 2022 environments,
• Linux distributions (e.g., RHEL8/9, Amazon Linux 2023) within AWS.

Salary: $165,000 - $175,000 annually
