Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to support SITEC 3 EOM at MacDill AFB, Florida. You will design and manage core cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability, security, and mission readiness.

You will deliver Tier 3 support, develop IaC, and collaborate with government partners, focusing on performance optimization and system engineering across NetOps and PAAS/SAAS offerings.

Qualifications

• Min 9 years with HS degree, 7 years with AS/AA degree, 5 years with BS/BA, 3 years with MS/MA.
• DoD 8570 IAT II Certification.
• DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• Minimum of 3+ years of AWS/Microsoft Azure experience involving design, deployment, configuration, and optimization.
• Proven track record in managing production Windows Servers and implementing top-tier security practices within an enterprise environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft operating platforms and Office applications.
• At least 3 years of relevant IT experience.
• Demonstrated ability in performance optimization and system engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage AWS and Azure cloud environments with provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance and security.
• Design, develop, and implement highly available, multi-region solutions within Microsoft Azure.
• Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements.
• Migrate existing infrastructure services to cloud-based solutions.
• Manage security and access controls of cloud-based solutions.
• Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) leveraging cloud native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deployments.
• Develop and implement policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss.
• Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernized.
• Ensure all resources components meet proper performance and capacity standards.
• Provide training and mentorship to Cloud Administrators, enhancing their understanding of Cloud capabilities and standard configurations.
• Innovate and implement new technologies to advance mission readiness.
