Job summary

Tyler Technologies is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join a cloud platform team building scalable, distributed systems that power Socrata solutions. You’ll work across languages and technologies, mentor peers, and ship customer-facing features on AWS.

You’ll collaborate with product owners and management to design robust solutions, contribute to testing, deployment, monitoring, and learn from a diverse, humor-loving team.

Qualifications

• Experience with at least one statically typed language (Scala, Elixir, Java, Go or C++).
• Significant HTML, CSS, and JavaScript experience.
• Experience with React/ES2016, Redux, jQuery, Typescript and Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with testing frameworks like Mocha, Chai, Jest, RSpec or similar tools.
• Ability to ship software in the face of ambiguity.
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres) and NoSQL; AWS familiarity.
• Comfortable in a heterogeneous development environment with multiple languages (Scala, Ruby, JavaScript; Python, Elixir).

Responsibilities

• Build and ship high-quality customer-facing features.
• Maintain and improve a distributed cloud platform running on AWS.
• Mentor other engineers.
• Collaborate with other devs, engineering management, and product owners to design and architect solutions.
