Tyler Technologies is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our team building cloud software to accelerate government data access. You will work on a distributed platform used by cities and agencies, collaborating with engineers across multiple languages.

You should enjoy deep dives into code, mentor peers, and ship features end-to-end on AWS. The role involves design, testing, deployment, and monitoring across a diverse tech stack including Scala, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript and more.

Qualifications

• Experience building scalable, distributed cloud platforms.
• Proficiency with statically typed languages (Java, Scala, C++, etc.).
• Strong frontend skills in HTML/CSS/JS and modern frameworks.
• Experience with testing frameworks (Mocha, Chai, Jest, RSpec).
• Comfort working in a heterogeneous language environment and shipping under ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship high‑quality customer‑facing features.
• Maintain and improve a distributed cloud platform running on AWS.
• Mentor other engineers.
• Collaborate with devs, management, and product owners to design and architect solutions.
