Compass is building a world-class engineering team for the real estate platform. You will focus on cloud-native services, distributed systems, and microservices that scale to manage millions of interactions and data points across the real estate journey.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience with languages such as Java or Golang.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based services (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization, microservices architecture, and CI/CD.
• Experience with Kafka and Ruby on Rails is a plus.
• BS in CS or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed, event-driven microservices.
• Independently define, decompose, and lead delivery of complex projects.
• Perform code reviews, design reviews, and write high quality tests.
• Become the subject matter expert for one or more services in your domain.
• Create clear and concise documentation (diagrams, service descriptions, decisions, runbooks).
• Own and operationally improve services in your domain throughout their lifecycle.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks to address inefficiencies in the developer experience.
