Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. seeks a System Development Engineer II to design, deploy, and maintain security services for ADC regions. You will work across languages, troubleshoot complex systems, and develop automation to improve reliability and security at scale.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and leverage AI-assisted tooling to accelerate secure development workflows. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• Experience leading design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure
• Experience programming with modern languages such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
• 2+ years designing or architecting distributed systems
• 4+ years of admin experience in networking, storage, OS and hands-on systems engineering

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable security solutions across thousands of devices in ADC regions
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production software issues across Python, Java, TypeScript, Bash, Ruby on Linux
• Develop tools, automation, and monitoring to reduce toil and improve operations
• Conduct deep-dive troubleshooting and post-mortems to identify root causes
• Collaborate with teams to optimize cloud infrastructure maintenance and customer experiences

Skills

Bachelor's degree or CSSLP

Security clearance TS/SCI with Poly

Infrastructure design experience

Programming in Python/Java/C++

Networking and OS administration
