Job summary

Illumio, headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, seeks a software engineer to build containerized services for a distributed multi-tenant system. You will design, defend architectures, and deliver robust implementations while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent required.
• 2+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems.
• Proven passion for software development and collaborative team work.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP at API/programming level.
• Kubernetes-based platform experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Go and SQL; REST API client experience.
• Unix/Linux development environment familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Develop containerized (micro) services for a distributed multi-tenant system.
• Design, defend, and deliver rock-solid implementations.
• Mentor junior engineers, new grads, and interns.
• Write Go code and work with data pipelines using SQL or similar interfaces.
• Own features and the full software lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Own operational aspects of the system and improve maintainability.
• Uphold code quality with early testing and integration tests.
• Collaborate with Product Management to refine requirements.
