Job summary

Illumio, a leader in breach containment, is seeking engineers to build containerized microservices in a distributed multi-tenant system. You will work with Go and SQL, operate in a Kubernetes-based platform, and interact with cloud infrastructures (AWS/Azure/GCP) to deliver real-time security insights.

You will design, defend, and implement features end-to-end, mentor junior engineers, and take ownership of critical subsystems and operational aspects, ensuring robustness and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent; Master’s degree a plus.
• 4+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems.
• Willingness to learn, passion for software development, and team collaboration.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP at API/programming level.
• Kubernetes-based platform experience and containerized services.

Responsibilities

• Develop containerized (micro) services for a distributed multi-tenant system processing data, real-time events, and network telemetry from multiple public clouds to provide real-time insights, visibility, and security recommendations.
• Design your service, defend the design/architecture, and deliver a rock-solid implementation.
• Mentor junior engineers, new-grads, and interns to help them grow as engineers.
• Write code in Go and work with data pipeline using SQL; operate in a Kubernetes-based environment.
• Own critical features and subsystems from requirements to deployment and usage by customers.
• Own operational aspects of the system to understand and improve supportable software.
• Maintain high code quality through early testing and integration tests.
• Collaborate with Product Management to refine requirements beyond customer expectations.
• Develop deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder interaction.
