Job summary

ASM Research is seeking a Security Engineer to bolster the CMS HIOS Platform Team in a complex federal production environment. You will safeguard cloud infrastructure and sensitive data, design and maintain robust security solutions, and automate security processes within an Agile, cross-functional team.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in security across compliance, identity, networking, and cloud security, with hands-on experience in monitoring tools and risk evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 4+ years in compliance, identity, networking, system data, and cloud security.
• Experience researching security issues and developing security technology solutions; ability to assess risk using monitoring tools and systems.

Responsibilities

• Research security issues and help create new security technology solutions.
• Design and develop scripts to automate security control workflow lifecycle.
• Evaluate risk using monitoring systems and tools (Splunk, New Relic, firewall, CSP, SIEM, vulnerability scans).
• Develop and implement security procedures aligned with best practices and compliance.
• Perform data classification and security assessments for clients.
• Develop and enforce policies for API key generation, storage, and rotation.
• Support remediation plans to meet risk assessment goals.
• Conduct threat modeling to identify security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Follow CMS security, accessibility, documentation, configuration management, and SDLC requirements.
• Provide security guidance and knowledge sharing to team members.
