Job summary

Amazon in Seattle is seeking a System Development Engineer for the Platform Engineering and Emerging Technologies team. You will design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure and services to deliver highly available, resilient platforms for government and internal workloads.

The role requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph eligibility and hands-on experience in cloud-scale systems engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or CSSLP credential required.
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing or architecting scalable systems.
• 5+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Current active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools and systems to provide a highly-available and resilient platform.
• This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week in every six, with focus on fault tolerance and root-cause resolution.
