Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned engineering leader to guide a team delivering cloud platform capabilities, spanning event messaging, data, and storage. You will drive delivery, define roadmaps, and raise the bar on operational excellence across shared services used in a large-scale environment.

You will own backlog, planning, and team ceremonies while mentoring engineers, shaping a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and ensuring scalable, reliable platform services.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading engineering teams in cloud platform or infrastructure environments.
• Strong background in cloud-native systems, shared platform services, and production operations.
• Proven track record delivering reliable services with robust monitoring and incident handling.
• Experience with backlog management, program planning, and execution rhythms in platform teams.
• Ability to hire, coach and develop engineers across levels and communicate across orgs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for cloud platform capabilities.
• Drive delivery and operational excellence for shared services used across the organization.
• Own backlog management, program planning, and team ceremonies to improve execution.
• Define and execute roadmaps for platform capabilities improving reliability and security.
• Improve monitoring, observability, deployment patterns, and release safety.
• Set expectations for engineering quality, incident response, and on-call maturity.
• Partner with stakeholders to align priorities and deliver platform capabilities.
• Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Coach engineers and emerging leaders to raise performance and career growth.
• Ensure reusable, well-operated services across Azure and GCP.
