Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Software Engineer Manager to lead teams building cloud platform products enabling agentic workloads. You will guide engineers from design to release and ensure secure, governed experiences across technical and non-technical users.

You will partner with Platform Reliability Engineering to build observability, reliability, and on-call readiness into products, while growing the next generation of engineering talent and fostering a platform-engineering culture.

Qualifications

Mastery of an object oriented programming language (preferably Go).
Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes (GKE) in a production environment.
5-7 years of relevant work experience, including experience leading or managing engineers.
Leadership experience and a strong technology mindset.

Responsibilities

Owns delivery of cloud platform products from roadmap and design through release and ongoing operation.
Collaborates with product management, UX, architecture, and consuming teams to create secure, reliable, scalable platform capabilities.
Defines SLOs, observability, alerting, runbooks, and on-call readiness for every product before and after launch.
Guides the design and build of services on Google Cloud and GKE, using infrastructure as code and CI/CD to deliver in small, safe increments.
Writes code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring, and testing; participates in design and code reviews.
